Dev has over 20 year's expertise, working at board level to
deliver a wide cross-section of complex global business & IT
change programmes.
Characterised by his absolute commitment, integrity and lateral
thinking, Dev brings a unique blend of talents to each
project.
With extensive global implementation experience, his client list
includes major private and public sector organisations - LloydsTSB,
Barclays, AXA IM, Brown Brothers Harriman, Schroders, Thames Water,
Ernst & Young, British Airways, Smiths Industries and Motorola,
as well as central government departments and local authorities in
the UK.
Dev's innate ability to see the bigger picture - being aware of
the wood as well as the trees - is a long-established trait, and
complements his business analysis skill in evaluating successful
and unsuccessful processes, in order to define the best route for a
project. His success has come from combining expert
business process analysis skills and exceptional change management
experience, with rigorous programme and project management, whilst
maintaining the right levels of communication and stakeholder
engagement. Dev brings energy, innovation, creativity, strong
analytical capability, and leadership to his clients. He has
delivered globally, across locations including the UK, France,
Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Hong Kong, Spain, Italy and the USA
- in Seattle, New York and Boston. He builds strong
relationships and lasting trust at all levels of an organisation
and excells at engaging people and ensuring their buy-in to a
project. Dev is driven, and maintains a passionate,
uncompromising and dedicated approach to his work.
His general business experience and project management skills
stem from an early age, through exposure to his father's
sheet-metal engineering company in his early teens. He worked
within the firm in parallel with secondary school, from the age of
13, learning to interpret technical drawings and operate specialist
machinery. He was also able expand his business knowledge in
a different direction, by assisting with his mother's fashion
boutique: "The two extremes of light engineering and fashion sales
certainly provided plenty of opportunity to hone project management
and sales skills, while helping to build
self-confidence!"
His tertiary education entailed an industrial-experience year,
which saw Dev working for Motorola in Germany and the UK, with his
responsibilities quickly rising to project-management level.
Dev then studied for his Masters in Business Management at Warwick
under Professor Bhattacharyya, renowned for the establishment of
the WMG (Warwick Manufacturing Group). The WMG acts as an
important bridge between academia and industry, and Dev was one of
its original consultancy recruits, working on DTi-funded time-based
strategies for organisations such as British Airways, Lucas
Industries, Rover Group and Short Brothers. With projects
involving high-level change and resource management, the emphasis
was always on bottom-line improvement. In parallel to this,
Dev studied for his Engineering Doctorate (Eng.D), before being
moving to Ernst & Young.
The two years spent at Ernst & Young during the late 1990s,
followed by Barclays, gave Dev significant experience of the
financial sector, in which he then worked as an independent
consultant for several years, before diversifying into local
authority and central government projects within the public
sector. It was whilst working as an independent consultant,
that his path crossed that of Aerice co-director Stuart Owers, in
2005. Dev's career path is exemplified by high-level change
and programme management - delivering change across business
process transformation and IT implementation, working typically at
board level to help define corporate objectives, and translating
these into projects that deliver tangible results and
benefits.
Behind the Scenes
Dev's sporting strategies encompass a similar love of motor
racing to co-director Stuart, as well as football, and a
particularly keen interest in golf. He has recently taken up
karting again, and has never lost his enthusiasm for good food and
wine. This is finely balanced by a healthy-body/healthy-mind
approach to diet, nutrition and fitness, which he takes
seriously. Married with two young children, who provide him
with constant motivation and inspiration, he has his feet firmly on
the ground - adopting a no-nonsense, get up and go attitude to all
aspects of his working and personal life.
